KPCC President K. Sudhakaran has stated that there are no discussions underway regarding the appointment of a new KPCC chief. “There is no situation that calls for a change in the KPCC President. The High Command has not indicated anything in this regard so far. No names have been suggested. If the High Command asks me to stay, I will stay; if they ask me to go, I will go,” he said. He also expressed satisfaction with the discussions held in Delhi yesterday.
The 40-minute meeting took place at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and was also attended by Rahul Gandhi. The discussions focused on the upcoming Nilambur by-election, the subsequent local body elections, and the forthcoming assembly elections — all major challenges facing the party. Organizational issues, including the vacant treasurer post, were also discussed.
Although there was no major discussion about leadership change, there are speculations that some changes may occur as part of a broader reorganization. If Sudhakaran is replaced, names like Anto Antony and Sunny Joseph are being considered for the position, according to Congress sources. There is also speculation that if he is removed, Sudhakaran may be given a national-level position.
