The Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg was responding to the National Payments Corporation of India’s restrictions on digital payments in connection with the central government’s restrictions.

Zuckerberg said WhatsApp Money Exchange has decided to link up with 140 banks around the world, including India. You can make payments to your family and friends through the WhatsApp. Zuckerberg said the service is as simple and secure as sending a message. The transaction system is now fully secure and fully confidential. No fees are charged for transactions. Zuckerberg said digital payments had become “really important” in the context of the pandemic as “it’s safer than handing someone cash and eliminates the need from standing in line at the bank”.
