Many medicines are not available at the fair price medical shops in the medical college. Dialysis patients are facing great difficulty due to the unavailability of medicine.
The Beach Hospital has also been without the necessary medicine for dialysis for the last three months. Patients and relatives have met the DMO with complaints. The crisis is compounded by the fact that dialysis medicine is not available in Karunya Medical Shops either. It has been five days since the drug suppliers stopped supplying medicine to the medical college. The supply of medicine was stopped when the outstanding dues to the drug suppliers exceeded eighty crore rupees.
Many medicines are not available in the fair price medical shops in the medical college. As a result, patients are forced to buy medicines from private medical shops outside at high prices. The crisis they face is that many do not have the financial means to do so.
