30 lakh ransom, police foiled plan of young woman who tried to extort her father’s money

Bhopal: Rajasthan police caught a young woman red-handed who tried to extort Rs 30 lakh from her father by creating a fake kidnapping story. The play was to study abroad. Mother enrolled the girl for coaching in Kota, Rajasthan. Although the admission was taken on August 3, the girl stopped it from August 5 and crossed to Indore in Madhya Pradesh. The young woman was 400 km away from her hometown. On March 18, the father received a message on his phone saying that his daughter had been kidnapped and that he wanted 30 lakhs as ransom. There were also pictures of his daughter tied up. With this, the parents approached the police.

A special investigation team was formed on March 18 following a complaint filed by the girl’s father. The investigation revealed that the young woman was living with two friends in Indore, which is 400 km away from the area where her parents live. The police found one of the friends during the investigation.

The friend revealed that the girl had said that she was not interested in studying in India and wanted to go abroad with another friend. The friend also informed the police that she had told him that she needed money for that. With this, the police spoke to the family and took further steps.
