Sojan Joseph was elected as the first Labor Party MP from Ashford, ending the 139-year success story of the Conservative Party. Sitting M.P. Sojan Joseph, a Kottayam native, has captured Damiengreen’s 27-year monopoly seat.

Sojan Joseph is a native of Kottayam Kaipuzha. Sajan Joseph is a councilor at Ashfed Borough Council and head of mental health nursing at the NHS. Joined William Harvey Hospital as a Mental Health Nurse in the Department of Mental Health. Then moved to Ashford. Sojan Joseph joined the Labor Party in 2015.
