The BCCI has decided to distribute the prize money of Rs 125 crore to the winners of the 2024 World Cup 2024 not only to those who played but also to those who supported the team. 125 crore for a total of 42 players, including 15 first-team players and support staff. However the share of prize money will vary from role to role and rank to rank. Most of the amount will be distributed to the players who participated in the game. The highest amount will be for the captain
The 15 members of the Indian team who did not get to play even a single game will get 5 crores from the prize money. Chief coach Rahul Dravid will get Rs 5 crore as prize money. As for Dravid’s coaching staff, including batting coach Vikram Rathore, fielding coach T Dileep and bowling coach Paras Mambre, they will all get Rs 2.5 crore.
Rs 1 crore each will be distributed to the selection committee members including Ajit Agarkar. The support staff — three physiotherapists, three throwdown specialists, two masseurs and a strength and conditioning coach will get Rs 2 crore and the players will get Rs 2 crore.
“The support staff have also been informed about the prize money received from the BCCI and we have asked them all to submit an invoice,” the BCCI selection committee had named four reserve players along with the 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup. They were Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan and Khalil Ahmed. They will also be given a reward of one crore rupees each.
After the return of Team India, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also announced a reward of Rs 11 crore for the team. It will be distributed to players only
