Tripunithura blast; 10 people including temple officials granted bail

Kochi: 10 people arrested in Tripunithura blast granted bail. Four persons related to Vadakkupura Karayoga and six temple officials who were arrested in the firecracker explosion during Puthikav temple festival have been granted bail. Justice C. S. Dias granted bail to temple office bearers Satheesan, Sasikumar, Ranjith, Krishnankutty Nair, Anil Kumar and Santosh, and north officials Sajeev Kumar MN, Rajesh C, Sathyan KK and Rajeev.

The prosecution opposed the grant of bail to them, but the court was informed that the investigation had been completed. Only the final report is to be submitted in the case. The bail is set at Rs 1 lakh and 2 sureties. Appear before the Investigating Officer on every Saturday between 9 am and 11 am. Attendance at such stages as may be required by the Inquiry Officer. The court has also directed to submit the passport to the court.

The explosion took place on February 12. Then they were arrested many times. Out of this, the last 71 days and 55 days are in judicial custody. The court clarified that the bail will be granted after the investigation is completed and evidence is collected.
