New Delhi: Responding to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s statement regarding the lack of concrete evidence in connection with the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs reaffirmed India’s position. The ministry stated that Canada has not provided any evidence against India’s diplomatic representatives, confirming India’s consistent stand on the issue.
Canada has not been able to present any evidence against India, despite making serious allegations, according to Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi. “What we heard today is simply a confirmation of what India has been saying all along. Canada has made these accusations without any concrete proof,” Bagchi noted.
He further emphasized that Canada has been making these claims about India and its diplomatic representatives without any substantial evidence. The Ministry also reiterated that Trudeau alone is responsible for the current strain in India-Canada relations. India strongly criticized Canadian efforts to link the country with criminal gangs.
From the beginning, Trudeau claimed that Canada had shared evidence with India regarding Nijjar’s murder. However, India has maintained that no such evidence was received. Subsequently, Trudeau admitted in an event in Ottawa that there was no concrete evidence to prove India’s involvement in the killing.
