Vande Bharat Mission: 152 Indian nationals returned from UAE

A total of 152 Indians stranded in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE), returned to their homeland on Sunday through a special flight under the Vande Bharat Mission. Passengers from there do not have any signs of Kovid-19 but will have to live in quarantine as per the rules here. This information was given by Amit Malakar, Nodal Officer of Indore for Kovid. As of 8 July, a total of 5 lakh 80 thousand Indians have been brought back from different countries under the Vande Bharat Mission.One and a half million Indians stranded abroad returned under 'Vande Bharat Mission'

This was informed by the Foreign Ministry on Thursday. This mission was initiated by the Government of India to prevent the return of the citizens of the country trapped in other countries due to the ongoing lockdown to prevent the infection of the novel coronavirus. The first phase of this mission was concluded on 7 May.
