Kochi: Actor Shine Tom Chacko, who was arrested in connection with the drug case, has been granted bail. The actor was released after the police completed the bail procedures. Shine will now only have to appear when the police send a notice in connection with the case. The actor did not respond to the media after his release. The police have released the statement given by Shine in connection with the case.
The actor has told the police that he uses methamphetamine and cannabis. The actor also revealed that he had previously sought treatment at a de-addiction center due to
drug use. His father intervened and sent him to the de-addiction center in Koothattukulam due to drug use. However, Shine said that he returned from there after 12 days.
Shine was questioned by three groups of officers today. It is reported that Shine was hesitant under the questioning of the three groups. During the interrogation, he answered no when asked if he knew Sajeer, but when the cyber documents came before Shine, he had to admit that he did know. The cyber section presented details of some phone calls Shine had made with Sajeer. Later, when he could not hold back during the interrogation, Shine had to admit that he used to use chemical drugs and that he had dealings with drug gangs.
