Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has criticized P P Divya, stating that she made a mistake regarding the ADM’s death. He also defended the stance taken by the Pathanamthitta district committee, saying there was nothing wrong with their position. The remarks were made in response to discussions at the CPM Kannur district conference.
During the conference, representatives debated the controversy surrounding the ADM’s death, with some supporting and others opposing P P Divya.
Criticism against Divya included claims that the controversy surrounding her had become a setback for the party, and that she had acted immaturely by making independent decisions. On the other hand, there were also concerns that the disciplinary action against her appeared to be influenced by media trials and was not handled appropriately.
Some representatives pointed out that the stance taken by the Pathanamthitta district committee on the issue had increased pressure on the party. The Chief Minister’s response was in reaction to these discussions.
M V Jayarajan, speaking during the district conference, reiterated that the party had always maintained the same stance both then and now that Divya’s final remark in her speech was a key factor in the ADM’s death. This, he said, was why the party acknowledged it as a mistake.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had also criticized P P Divya at the Kozhikode district conference, aligning with the representatives’ views against her.
