Angamaly massacre case, petrol found in bedroom

The police said that the incident in which a family of four was burnt to death in Angamaly was a suicide. The police confirmed that petrol cans were kept in the room where the fire broke out. The police have also obtained the CCTV footage of Bineesh buying petrol. During the subsequent investigation, the police came to the conclusion that the family may have committed suicide.

After the fire, a forensic team conducted an inspection at the scene. The police also confirmed that Bineesh, who was a trader in Angamaly, had severe financial obligations.

On the morning of June 8, Angamali found the four people burnt to death in their house in Angadikkadu. Bineesh (45), his wife Anumol Mathew (40), their children Joanna (eight) and Jaswin (five) died. Bineesh’s mother Chinnamma, who was sleeping downstairs, first saw the fire in the upstairs room. When they made a noise, the locals came and extinguished the fire. By then, all four were dead.

At first, the police had doubts as to how the fire started only in the upper room. In the investigation conducted after this, the police got crucial information to come to the conclusion that the family may have committed suicide.
