The case is that Shibu Lawrence and his wife Jomol, who are settled in Australia, swindled Rs 20,860,000 from a man named Anoop in Pariyaram on the pretext of making him a partner in Vau Cinema Company. The money was transferred to the account of Australian Malayalee Jomol Shibu in Kerala. The Australian couple is currently facing a non-bailable warrant in the case.

Shibu Lawrence used to lend money to all the big names in Malayalam cinema and Dileep, Asif Ali, Fahadh Faasil, Nivin Pauly, Vineeth Srinivasan, producers Anthony Perumbavoor, Listyn Stephen, B Unnikrishnan and Badusha are all his clients and that is why he is getting all their film overseas distribution. . The Australian couple’s fraud is described in the FIR in the case of extorting Rs 35 lakhs from Anoop Pallikkara and Smita Anoop Pallikkara by pretending to be Shibu, a partner of Wow Cinemas.
A case has also been registered against YouTuber Baiju Kottarakkara in this regard. Producer Santhosh Trivikram and manager Shibu Job were the last ones to be cheated. Santhosh Trivikraman, a foreigner who has been part of the production of more than 25 films including ‘Priyan Ottathilaanu’, ‘Kunjammini Hospital’ and ‘Secret Home’, was told that they are overseas distributors.
At the time of the release of the film ‘Kunjamminis Hospital’, Shibu Lawrence John and his wife Jomol approached Shibu John. The duo, who took only overseas distribution for Rs 35 lakh, took more than Rs 1 crore from the Malayalees in Australia, claiming to be the partners of the film. It is alleged that the man impersonated as’ Shibu ‘, the manager of’ Wow Cinemas’ and cheated him. Cases have been registered against them in various police stations. The police also found that the money was transferred to the bank account of Shibu Lawrence John’s wife Jomol Shibu in Kerala.
In this connection, Byju Kottarakkara called the manager of Wow Cinemas, Shibu Job, and Santhosh Trivikraman, and threatened them. He also threatened to kill Shibu Job’s wife and children if the case was not withdrawn. Byju Kottarakkara also defamed them on his YouTube channel by making a nasty video in the name of both of them. A case has been registered against the two accused and further investigation is underway.
There have been several allegations against Shibu Lawrence John and Baiju Kottarakkara, including visa fraud and harassment. Another case is also pending against Shibu Lawrence John in Kerala for cheating a person named Murali Das, the producer of Malayalam films like ‘Vellam’ and ‘Nadiyil Sundari Yamuna’, of more than Rs 2 crore by misleading him that he could be made a business partner in Australia.
He is also said to be a close relative of Fisheries Minister Saji Cherian and has several police cases pending against him in Australia and several Indian courts for allegedly swindling crores of rupees from many people. The Kerala police have also learnt that the man is directly involved in legal proceedings in Australia in a number of cases, including several paper companies in Australia and embezzlement of government grants. He introduced himself as the distributor of the Malayalam film Shibulance Over Seas, which is distributed only in Australia. The police suspect that the famous director who introduced him to many producers is also part of these links.
Such allegations have been made before. Several cases have been registered against him in Kerala. According to the complainant, Byju Kottarakkara, who used to appear as an active discussion on media channels, used that publicity to defame Shibu John.
