Kozhikode: Beginning on December 1, Kozhikode Medical College will introduce a ₹10 charge for outpatient (OP) tickets. The decision was made during a meeting of the hospital development committee chaired by District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh.
The new fee will apply to the Medical College Hospital, IMCH, Dental College, and the Institute of Chest Diseases. The hospital development committee has made this decision in response to the increasing costs of daily operations and developmental activities at the hospital, aiming to find financial resources to support its activities.
The District Collector emphasized that improving the hospital’s operations is crucial, as thousands of patients from Kozhikode and neighboring districts rely on it. Charging ₹10 for an OP ticket will not burden individuals significantly, and the funds generated will serve as a substantial starting point for the hospital’s development initiatives. Currently, OP tickets are provided free of charge
