Kochi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has reiterated that there was no foul play in the tragic death of violinist Balabhaskar. The accident occurred on September 25, 2018, near Pallippuram in Thiruvananthapuram, involving the car carrying Balabhaskar and his family.
The CBI has submitted its report to the Thiruvananthapuram CJM Court, confirming that Balabhaskar’s death was accidental. This follows a reinvestigation ordered by the High Court.
Suspicions were reignited when Arjun, the driver during the accident, was arrested in Malappuram in connection with a gold smuggling case involving a heist of 3 kilograms of gold. Earlier, Balabhaskar’s father had also raised allegations linking the tragedy to gold smuggling activities.
Arjun was accused of aiding the transport of stolen gold after the heist. Balabhaskar and his daughter Tejaswini Bala succumbed to injuries on October 2, 2018, while undergoing treatment. His wife, Lakshmi, and driver Arjun sustained injuries in the accident.
