Central Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of rain with thunder in the state today while there is a possibility of formation of low pressure over the North Bay of Bengal. Yellow alert has been issued in four districts today due to the possibility of isolated heavy rains. Yellow alert has been announced in Idukki, Ernakulam, Palakkad and Malappuram districts. A cyclone has also formed near Lakshadweep.
The state is expected to experience light to moderate rainfall across the next seven days, with isolated areas potentially receiving heavy rainfall.
For tomorrow (October 5, 2024), a yellow alert has been issued for two districts: Idukki, Ernakulam, Palakkad, and Malappuram, predicting isolated heavy rain. Heavy rainfall in this context refers to receiving between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm of rain within 24 hours.
