Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is a chance of rain with thunder in the state today. A yellow alert has been issued in three districts today due to the possibility of isolated heavy rains. Yellow alert issued today in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Idukki districts.
Strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph are also likely to occur at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur districts on Thursday morning. Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Wayanad and Kasaragod districts are also likely to receive light rain at isolated places, the Meteorological Department said.
Last night also there was rain with thunder and lightning in various districts. During the next 3 hours, isolated areas of Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram district experienced moderate rain with thunder and lightning and wind speed of 40 kmph. Light rains were also received in different parts of Alappuzha, Kottayam and Ernakulam districts.
