Chief Minister Has No Shame in Clinging to Power, Should Resign Immediately, Says Opposition Leader

“Does the Chief Minister have no shame in clinging to power? Following the allegations that the ADGP in charge of law and order, centered in the Chief Minister’s office, was involved in gold smuggling and gold theft, Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan has severely criticized the Chief Minister.

Grave allegations, including murder, robbery, corruption, illegal wealth acquisition, gold smuggling, and gold theft, have now surfaced against the Chief Minister’s office. V.D. Satheesan asked whether the Chief Minister had no shame in holding on to power despite such serious accusations, and said that the office of the Chief Minister has become a haven for criminals. He demanded that the investigation be handed over to the CBI and that the Chief Minister resign from his position.

‘The Chief Minister’s office, which holds the Home Department portfolio, is at the center of these allegations. During the first Pinarayi government, serious accusations had surfaced against the Chief Minister’s office, which led to the imprisonment of the Principal Secretary, a senior IAS officer, at the time. Now, shocking allegations of murder, robbery, corruption, illegal wealth accumulation, gold smuggling, and gold theft are being raised against the office. The Kerala government stands as a disgrace to the nation’.

Serious accusations have been made against the Chief Minister’s office itself. It is alleged that the ADGP, who was responsible for law and order, carried out gold smuggling and gold theft centered in the Chief Minister’s office. It has also been alleged that the Political Secretary to the Chief Minister supported this, an allegation raised by a ruling party MLA. How can the Chief Minister, who has entrusted full responsibility to his Political Secretary, escape these accusations? What has come to light is only the tip of the iceberg. The crimes committed by this syndicate will shock Kerala. The Chief Minister’s office has turned into a haven for criminals. The Chief Minister is unfit to remain in office for even a moment. He should resign and hand over the investigation to the CBI.

Has any Chief Minister who ruled Kerala ever faced such shameful allegations? Two murders related to gold theft have now come to light. It has been revealed that the Chief Minister’s office orchestrated these murders to destroy evidence in the gold smuggling case. Has any Chief Minister in India ever faced such serious allegations? Yet, does the Chief Minister have no shame in clinging to power? Is there anyone in his party with the backbone to question this? Even with such serious allegations, members of the party are afraid of the Chief Minister.

The investigation announced now is only meant to create a smokescreen. If the allegations are false, then file a case against the MLA who raised them. But the government lacks the courage to do so because they fear him. That’s why they are trying to appease the MLA. This MLA is the Chief Minister’s most trusted ally. This is the same MLA that the Chief Minister tasked with raising false accusations against the Leader of the Opposition. A ruling party MLA would never accuse the Leader of the Opposition without the Chief Minister’s knowledge. This MLA even demanded that Rahul Gandhi’s DNA be tested, and the Chief Minister justified it. If the accusations raised by the trusted MLA are false, let the Chief Minister take action against him. The Chief Minister once said that action would be taken no matter how high the status of the individual involved.

This has been said before. Here, the accused is the Chief Minister. So why target Shashi and Ajit Kumar? This is not P. Shashi’s or Ajit Kumar’s or Sivasankar’s office. This is Pinarayi Vijayan’s office. The accusations are against this office. The Chief Minister should open his mouth and respond. What a press conference it used to be earlier! Now there is silence. If the Chief Minister has the courage, let him face the media and answer the accusations one by one. The syndicate in the Chief Minister’s office, which controls the police, is engaged in gold smuggling.

M.R. Ajit Kumar was not the only one investigating the Solar case. All three police officers involved in the investigation gave similar reports. Yet, it was handed over to the CBI. The court dismissed the case based on the report submitted by the CBI to the court. Anwar brought up the Solar case to show that he still belongs to the CPM. Has any ruling party MLA in the history of the Communist Party raised accusations against a Chief Minister? The ruling party MLA has made accusations against the Chief Minister, and the party secretary says they will be examined, which means there must be some truth to it. The investigation should be handed over to the CBI if they have the courage,” said the Leader of the Opposition.
