Cholera death suspected in Thiruvananthapuram. Anu (26), an inmate of the differently-abled hostel in Neyyattinkara, died. Cholera was confirmed for the child with diarrhea along with Anu. The disease was confirmed in the medical college hospital lab of the child under treatment at SAT hospital.
Nine more inmates of the hostel are suffering from diarrhea and are being treated at the Medical College Hospital. The doctors informed that they will conduct a test to find out whether the deceased Anu was suffering from cholera. In the last 6 months, 9 people have been diagnosed with cholera in the state. The last death due to cholera in the state was in 2017.
