Wayanad: Landslide victims from Chooralmala-Mundakkai are facing hardships due to continuous adalats and lengthy data collection processes. Many victims report waiting for hours to provide information, with some stating they don’t even have money to pay for travel expenses.
Despite their demand for loan waivers, banks are now moving towards restructuring the loans of the landslide victims. In Meppadi, victims with outstanding loans were called for data collection, where many added the request for loan waivers to their applications. However, some have criticized the loan restructuring process, seeing it as an effort to avoid full loan waivers.
