Petition to quash the SFIO investigation into the CMRL-Exalogic monthly payment contract will be heard in the Delhi High Court today. CMRL’s petition claims that the SFIO investigation is illegal.
Meanwhile, the SFIO raised suspicions in the High Court that funds were also provided to supporters of terrorist activities.
The SFIO revealed in court that there is suspicion regarding whether the funds from CMRL were directed to those supporting terrorist activities. The SFIO informed the court that the investigation is based on this suspicion.
CMRL argued that conducting another investigation into a matter already settled by the Income Tax Settlement Board is against the rules. The court will also hear arguments on Shaun George’s application to intervene in the case.”
