The verdict on PP Divya’s anticipatory bail petition will be today. The court heard arguments that lasted for hours the previous day. Thalassery Principal Sessions Court Judge Nisar Ahmed will announce the order. The prosecution argued that Divya attended the farewell meeting with a deliberate intent to defame and that charges of incitement are valid. To discuss organizational action against Divya, CPM district leadership meetings are scheduled for Wednesday.
During the hearing, Divya’s lawyer accused the ADM, while the lawyer representing Naveen Babu’s family and the prosecution presented arguments against Divya. The CPI(M) has yet to take any action against PP Divya. Although she was removed from the position of District Panchayat President, no party-level action has been initiated.
