Cyclone Formation Triggers Yellow Alert in Six Districts of the State Today

Due to the formation of a cyclone in the Bay of Bengal, Kerala is likely to experience rain today. The India Meteorological Department has forecast light rain in isolated areas of Alappuzha and Kottayam districts in the coming hours. Yellow alerts have been issued in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts due to the rain warning.

An orange alert has been declared for tomorrow in Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad districts, with predictions of isolated heavy rain in these areas.

The state is expected to experience moderate rain with thunderstorms over the next five days. There is a possibility of very heavy rainfall in isolated areas on December 1, 2, and 3. Due to the orange and yellow alerts for tomorrow, heavy rain is expected in many districts.

The weather conditions are expected to be partly cloudy during the day with thunderstorms in the evening. Rain is expected even in hilly areas.
