Ponnani: A case has been registered against three persons in the death of two fishermen after the ship collided with the boat. The case is against the captain, vice-captain and watchtower observer of the ship that took the lives of the fishermen.
Munakkadav Coastal Police has registered a case under Sections 304 and 337 of the IPC. The accident happened around one o’clock on Monday morning. The ship hit the boat while fishing. The accident was 14 nautical miles off the coast of Chavakkad. After hitting the ship, the boat split in two. The stern fell under the ship.
The rest was upside down. Ghafoor and Abdul Salam, natives of Ponnani, died. The boat named ‘Islah’ which had left from Ponnani met with an accident. The accident occurred 32 nautical miles from Chavakkad Cape. Sagar Yuvraj rammed the boat.
