In the case of the brutal murder of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl in Balaramapuram, Thiruvananthapuram, the accused, Harikumar, has denied committing the crime. When presented in court at 11 AM today, Harikumar dramatically claimed that he did not kill Devendu. This unexpected turn has put the Balaramapuram police under pressure once again. Following this, the court has ordered a mental health evaluation for the accused. With Harikumar denying the charges, questions arise about who actually committed the murder. Speculations have also surfaced regarding whether the child’s mother, Sreethu, who is currently arrested in a financial fraud case, could be involved in the crime.
The court has directed that Harikumar undergo a mental health examination. He has been remanded to three days of police custody for further questioning. As the case remains shrouded in mystery, the police are intensifying their efforts to speed up the evidence collection process. Investigators are making a concerted effort to uncover the truth behind the child’s murder, which involved throwing the toddler into a well.
Harikumar was presented before the Neyyattinkara First Class Judicial Magistrate Court this morning. After reviewing the police’s request, the court granted three days of custody for interrogation. Meanwhile, the magistrate personally interacted with Harikumar to assess his mental state. The court’s preliminary assessment concluded that the accused does not suffer from any mental instability.
