Due to unpaid dues, KSEB (Kerala State Electricity Board) pulled the fuse of the Kochi Corporation regional office

Kochi: KSEB has pulled the fuse of the Kochi Corporation regional office. The corporation zonal office has to pay a bill amounting to two lakh rupees. The action of KSEB is due to the arrears. Kochi Corporation has disconnected the electricity connection in the Fort Kochi regional office.

The Corporation stated that it has instructed to restore the connection by paying the electricity bill. Mayor Anil Kumar said that there is no financial crisis and the delay in paying the bill is due to technical reasons. At the same time, electricity consumption in the state is at an all-time record due to heatwave. With this, KSEB has again asked the government to cut power. Unannounced load shedding has to be done at many places due to overload. So far more than 700 transformers have failed.

KSEB may hold a high-level meeting today to discuss the situation. Meanwhile, electricity consumption in the state reached an all-time record. 11.31 crore units were used yesterday. Peak time demand for electricity also hit a record. The peak demand is 5646 MW.
