ED alleged that CPM has concealed the information about assets in Thrissur.

Thrissur: Enforcement Directorate says that CPM has hidden property information. ED states that CPM has 101 fixed assets in Thrissur district alone. It is reported that only one building was shown in the account given to the IT department and seven items were sold. The details of the properties have been sought from the Thrissur District Secretary.

At the same time, the ED had conducted a preliminary inquiry into the collection of funds related to the construction of party offices at the local level. ED suspects that there is a mystery in hiding information like this. ED today summoned Thrissur District Secretary MM Varghese and former MP PK Biju for questioning in connection with the case.

Earlier, ED had found that CPM had secret accounts in Karuvannur. It was also found that around 25 accounts in Thrissur were functioning as secret accounts. This information was communicated to the Reserve Bank and the Election Commission. Later, the Income Tax Department also started an investigation. After questioning MM Varghese, the accounts were also frozen.
