Electricity Usage Alert: KSEB Urges Caution

Thiruvananthapuram: With the rise in heat in the state, electricity consumption has reached a record. With this, KSEB has come up with an advice to the public on electricity consumption. It is recommended to reduce the use of washing machines between 6 pm and 12 pm.

KSEB has instructed that the habit of using washing machines late at night should be changed and these should be operated during the day in case of power interruptions. There is a slight decrease in daily electricity consumption in the state. Last day’s power consumption was 103.28 million units.

KSEB said that sector-wise electricity regulation has led to a reduction in consumption. The surcharge that followed the electricity regulation was also a setback for the consumers. An additional 10 paise will be charged in addition to the current nine paise surcharge. The current surcharge is a total of 19 paise. After checking the electricity consumption figures for two days, it will be decided whether to continue the restrictions or not.
