Expect heavy rain in Kerala for next five days

Central Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of widespread rain in Kerala for the next five days. Rain falls as a result of cyclonic circulation over Marathwada. There are thunderstorms and rain with strong winds. Heavy rain at isolated places from today till June 12 and very heavy rain on June 11 & 12 is also advised.

In the next three hours, isolated heavy rain with thundershowers and gusty winds of up to 40 kmph are likely over Kozhikode, Malappuram and Wayanad districts. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be moderate rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Kannur and Palakkad districts and strong winds with a speed of up to 40 km per hour.

The Central Meteorological Department has informed that from today till the 12th, it is not advisable to go fishing on the coasts of Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center has warned that there is a possibility of black sea phenomenon and high waves along Kerala coast and Tamil Nadu coast till 11.30 pm tomorrow.
