Thiruvananthapuram: It has been decided to provide Rs.4 lakh from the Disaster Response Fund for deaths due to snakebite. The Executive Committee of the Disaster Management Authority has finalized the new norms.
It has been decided to include snakebite deaths in the list as per the revised criteria. Meanwhile, a maximum of Rs. 1 lakh will be provided in case of damage to wells, walls, fences, drying chambers, MSME units, etc. while preventing wild animal conflicts.
