A woman who was being treated for food poisoning died in Thrissur Perinjanam. Nusayba (56), a native of Ponmanikudam, died. He died this morning while undergoing treatment at Thrissur Medical College. More than 100 people sought medical treatment after eating from a private hotel called Sein in Perinjanam.
So far, the number of people who have sought treatment for food poisoning after eating at the hotel has reached 178. The health department had conducted a detailed investigation of the incident. A team from the district medical office reached the hotel and collected the evidence.
On Saturday night, people who ate from Sain Hotel, which is operating in Perinjanam, got food poisoning. People who showed fever, diarrhea, vomiting and other discomfort around midnight sought treatment at various hospitals. Following the incident, the health department and food and safety department conducted an inspection and closed the hotel.
Food and safety authorities have collected samples of the food. Only after receiving the report will it be clear what caused the food poisoning. The health department officials said that the hotel is operating in unsanitary conditions.
A report has been filed in this regard in Kaypamangalam Police and Perinjanam Panchayath. People who were hospitalized due to food poisoning were seen and inquired about the information. The health department has announced that legal action will be taken against the hotel officials.
