Karuvannur black money case, PK Biju appeared for questioning

Thrissur: Former MP PK Biju appeared in the ED office for questioning in the Karuvannur black money case. Biju, who appeared at the Kochi office around 10 am, stated that it was the first time he received the notice and would answer the ED’s questions.

Biju was a member of the party inquiry commission in Karuvannur. The ED is seeking information from Biju about the findings of the inquiry commission, financial transactions with the accused in the case. ED had found that Biju had transacted money with Satheesh Kumar, the main accused in the case. The questioning is based on this.

PR Aravindakshan who was arrested against him in connection with the case had given his statement. Biju is being interrogated on the basis of Aravindakshan’s statement that Satheesh Kumar had handed over Rs 5 lakh to Biju.

ED is planning to question more CPM leaders in connection with the Karuvannur bank scam. As a part of this, CPM had issued an ED notice to Thrissur District Secretary MM Varghese.
