GST department raids in Kerala; 1200 crore trade through fake registration

Thiruvananthapuram: Widespread raid led by GST department in the state. The raid is focused on firms doing illegal business by producing fake GST registrations.

According to GST officials, trade worth Rs 1200 crore was done through fake GST registration in the state. 101 centers in the state are being checked at the same time under the leadership of 350 officials.

The investigation is under the Intelligence and Enforcement Sections under the GST Department. The investigation which started at 5 am is still going on.

Inspections are also being conducted at scrap warehouses in Ongallur, Palakkad. Inspections were also conducted at scrap godowns in Ongallur, Palakkad. It is reported that many people have been detained from different places.
