Kozhikode: Four SFI workers who were suspended for beating up the principal of Gurudeva College have been reinstated. Second year BBA student M.K. Teju Sunil, 3rd year BBA T. K. Teju Lakshmi, R P Amal Raj in second year B.Com. Amal Raj and Abhishek S. Santosh in second year psychology were reinstated after the decision of the college council.
There were requests for withdrawal from parents and students. The suspension was withdrawn and the students were reinstated after giving an assurance that such acts would not be repeated. Meanwhile, the college authorities informed that the police case will go ahead.
The clash took place on July 1 when the admission to undergraduate classes was going on in the college. The altercation between the SFI activists and the college principal over putting up a help desk regarding degree admission resulted in a clash. Police had registered a case against the principal and the staff secretary on the complaint of the SFI worker in the incident and against twenty SFI workers in the incident of assaulting the principal.
