Heavy Rain Expected in the State Today; Yellow Alert Issued for Three Districts

The Weather Department has issued a warning for heavy rain in the state today, with a yellow alert declared in three districts. The forecast predicts continued heavy rain for the next five days. On Thursday morning, there is a possibility of moderate rain with thunderstorms and winds reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h in some areas of Kasaragod district. The Weather Department also mentioned a likelihood of light rain in scattered areas of Kannur and Wayanad districts.

The yellow alert has been issued for the districts of Palakkad, Malappuram, and Wayanad today, where isolated heavy rain is expected. The public is advised to exercise caution in areas that may experience heavy rainfall in the coming days.

In Kerala, there is also a possibility of thunderstorms with rain and winds reaching speeds of 40-50 km/h in isolated areas on May 1st and 4th. Additionally, there is a chance of thunderstorms with rain on May 2nd and 3rd, according to the Central Meteorological Department.
