High Temperature Alert: Yellow Warning Issued in Eight Districts of Kerala by IMD

Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has issued a high temperature warning for eight districts in the state on Friday. A yellow alert has been declared in these districts. High temperatures are likely in Palakkad, Kozhikode, Kollam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kannur and Kasaragod districts.

The Central Meteorological Department, in a notification issued at 1 pm, said that the temperature is likely to rise to 37 degrees Celsius in Palakkad and Kozhikode districts, and to 36 degrees Celsius in Kollam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. The notification also said that due to high temperature and humid air, hot and uncomfortable weather is likely in these districts, except in the hilly areas, today.

Meanwhile, as per the 1 pm advisory, light to moderate rain with thundershowers is likely at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki and Malappuram districts of Kerala in the next three hours. In addition, strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph are also likely, the Central Meteorological Department said.
