Thiruvananthapuram: A two-day high temperature warning has been issued in the state. As part of this, a yellow alert has been issued in 9 districts. The yellow alert has been issued in Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. The Central Meteorological Department has said that the temperature is likely to rise to 38°C in Thrissur and Palakkad districts today and tomorrow, 37°C in Kollam, Kozhikode and Kannur districts, and 36°C in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Malappuram and Kasaragod districts (2-4°C higher than normal).
The notification also states that there is a possibility of hot and uncomfortable weather due to high temperatures and humid air. The State Disaster Management Authority has also issued cautionary instructions for the public in the wake of high heat reports in the state.
