In the lightning inspection of the food safety department in the state, 107 establishments were locked

Thiruvananthapuram: As part of Operation Life, 107 establishments were closed during the inspection conducted by the Food Safety Department at various places in the state. Institutions that did not comply with the norms were locked down. Notices were issued to 835 institutions. The closure of hotels and restaurants was ordered during a two-day secret drive conducted by the Food Safety Department.

The inspection was conducted in 2644 institutions across the state. 134 squads led the inspection. Rectification notices were issued to 368 firms and compounding notices to 458 firms. Adjudication proceedings have also been initiated against 9 institutions. Health card of employees, personal hygiene, water used for cooking etc. were checked.

Thiruvananthapuram 324, Kollam 224, Pathanamthitta 128, Alappuzha 121, Kottayam 112, Idukki 74, Ernakulam 386, Thrissur 247, Palakkad 173, Malappuram 308, Kozhikode 273, Wayanad 51, Kannur 169 and Kasargod 54 were conducted by the Ministry of Epidemic Prevention. The tests were conducted as per the instructions of Veena George. The aim was to ensure the cleanliness of food establishments and employees such as hotels and restaurants in relation to monsoons.
