Thrissur: Thrissur District Secretary MM Varghese informed that he will not be able to appear for the interrogation of the DD in the Karuvannur black money case till 26th of this month. He replied that because he is the Thrissur District Secretary, there is a rush to submit nomination papers in Alathur, Thrissur and Chalakudy constituencies.
The prime minister had assured Alathur candidate Prof. TN Sarasu that a strong investigation will continue in the black money case. After this, the ED intensified the action. ED had directed MM Varghese to appear today in the Karuvannur black money case.
CPM has been found to have five secret accounts in Karuvannur. The accounts were taken in violation of the co-operative law which requires membership to open accounts. The ED has also found 25 accounts in various co-operative banks under 17 area committees in Thrissur.
