VT Balram MLA said that this government has been carrying out widespread backdoor appointments and consultancy scams for the last four years. Backdoor appointments for party members and relatives are breaking the stage as many PSC rank lists are becoming obsolete and lakhs of job seekers are falling into the abyss of despair. In a Facebook post, VT Balram MLA demanded that the government prepare itself to investigate backdoor appointments in government offices and allied institutions, consultancy agreements under this government, and stabilization of temporary workers.

The NIA is investigating the gold smuggling. Customs is also investigating. They will carry it forward. It is irrelevant to welcome the Chief Minister and to send a letter to the Center fluently. Shivshankar, who was the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, was interrogated for six hours yesterday. If he is reprimanded, naturally the Chief Minister’s office will come under investigation. It is suspected that several phone calls with the accused were made from the CM’s office. This has created a situation where the office of the Chief Minister of Kerala is considered as an important place of occupancy for the crime.

In any case, Keralites are convinced of the Chief Minister’s “sincerity” in revealing the truth that Sivashankar, who has been associated with Pinarayi Vijayan for decades, is still on long leave and has not been suspended. Minister KT Jaleel, who has been proven to be in constant contact with smugglers through phone conversations, also exists in politics only under the direct protection of the Chief Minister.

The customs investigation will naturally be about this smuggling. The NIA will further investigate similar smuggling incidents and their treasonous elements. That is, all of them will be investigated on the basis of a Terms of Reference relating to ongoing criminal activities. Let it go vigorously, and let the whole network of criminals be broken.

But beyond that, a comprehensive examination of our government needs to be conducted in this context. Because only one head of the iceberg has been released so far. This government has been carrying out widespread backdoor appointments and consultancy scams for four years. Backdoor appointments for party members and relatives are breaking the stage when many PSC rank lists are out of date and lakhs of job seekers are falling into the abyss of despair. All that has been going on here so far has been to denigrate the criticisms and media reports of the time and to insult the arrogance and contempt of the dictator who rules Kerala.

In a country where democracy exists, governance must be carried out constitutionally, not to distribute favors to the relatives of the rulers and those who belong to the ruling party. There must be a definite criterion for any administrative decision, and there must be reasonable grounds to be accepted by all four. Therefore, in addition to the existing NIA and customs investigations, there should be special urgent inspections at the state government level on certain matters.

1) Release the list of all temporary employees earning above Rs. 30,000 / – per month working in various Government Offices and allied institutions controlled by the Government. Indicate whether their methods of appointment were lawful.

2) Disclosure of all consultancy agreements above `5 lakh awarded by Government Departments, Affiliates, and Projects during the last four years. Conduct a public audit of the method of selection of the consultancy firm, the need for the consultancy, whether their report is implemented or not and the benefit derived therefrom.

3) There is a strict ban on the stabilization of temporary employees since the 2006 Umadevi case. There is also a circular sent to various departments in this regard when KM Abraham was the Chief Secretary. But in the face of all this, every day stabilization orders are being issued for relatives and party workers, including ministers, personal staff, and Left youth leaders. The details of this need to come before the public.
