Kerala Government to Host Memorial Event Honoring M.T. Vasudevan Nair; CM Pinarayi Vijayan to Inaugurate

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate a memorial service organized by the Kerala government’s Cultural Department to pay tribute to M.T. Vasudevan Nair. The function, to be held at the Tagore Theatre in Thiruvananthapuram on December 31 at 3 pm, will be presided over by Culture Minister Saji Cherian.

Minister for Public Education V. Sivankutty, Minister for Food and Public Distribution G.R. Anil, Minister for Tourism and Public Works P.A. Mohammed Riyas, Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan, MPs Shashi Tharoor, A.A. Rahim, Antony Raju MLA, Mayor Arya Rajendran, Chief Secretary Saradha Muraleedharan, District Panchayat President D. Suresh Kumar, Councilor Rakhi Ravikumar, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajan Khobragade, Director of Cultural Department Dr. Divya S. Iyer will participate. N.S. Madhavan, Sreekumaran Thambi, Shaji N. Karun, K. Jayakumar, V. Madhusudhanan Nair, Premkumar, M. Jayachandran, G. Venugopal, Gauthami, Menaka Suresh, Jalaja, Madhupal, Venu ISC, Murugan Kattakada, Ashokan Charuvil, Jose Panachippuram, Subhash Chandran, R.S. Babu, V.S. Rajesh and others will commemorate MT.

The program will also include a musical composition led by playback singer Ravi Shankar, a book exhibition featuring MT’s literary works and screenplays, a photo exhibition capturing memorable moments from MT’s film career, and a screening of ‘Nirmalya’, which won the National and State Awards for Best Film in 1973.
