Loans of up to Rs 2 crore will be provided to women entrepreneurs, more employment opportunities in the tourism sector: Finance Minister

New Delhi: Nirmala Sitharaman started the budget presentation by highlighting the development achievements of the Narendra Modi government. This year’s budget will not dampen the hopes of the middle class. Loans of up to Rs 2 crore will be provided to women entrepreneurs. The announcement will benefit 5 lakh women, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said during the budget presentation.

In addition, it was announced that more job opportunities will be created in the tourism sector and that Mudra loans will be provided for home stays. 50 tourism centers will be opened with private participation. The Finance Minister said that the facilities at the existing centers will be upgraded. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in the budget announcement that a new center will be established for AI education and Rs 500 crore has been allocated for this.

Ten thousand seats have been added in medical colleges. Additional funds have been allocated for 5 IITs started after 2014. The budget also announced that funds have been allocated for infrastructure development, including IIT Palakkad. Ten thousand PM Research Scholarships will be given for IIT and IISc research for the next year. The budget also announced that 27 sectors have been added to startups. Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the second budget of the third Modi government.
