New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the second budget of the third Modi government today. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that this year’s budget is for a developed India, the country is waiting to see what the budget announcements will be. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said yesterday that the budget will give new energy to the people.
The country is eagerly awaiting the announcements on taxes to overcome the economic crisis and control inflation. Reports suggest that there may be changes in income tax slabs. Currently, those with income up to three lakh rupees are exempt from income tax. There is a strong demand to increase this to five lakh rupees in this year’s budget.
The Economic Survey report presented ahead of the budget has said that India’s GDP is expected to grow by 6.3 percent to 6.8 percent in the financial year 2025-26. India’s economy will remain stable in the coming financial year. All sectors, including the agriculture sector, are performing well. The industrial sector is also progressing. The Economic Survey report also says that the country’s industrial sector is in a better position than in the pre-Covid years.
