Lok Sabha election; Election campaign will concludes today in the state

Election campaign will concludes today in the state. The asvertisment campaign will end at six in the evening. It is a prestige battle for the LDF, which is ruling the state, and the UDF, which won handsomely in the previous elections. The BJP-led NDA, which is in power at the Centre, needs to win from the southern state of Kerala. There was much debate and controversy throughout the campaign. As the campaign reaches the final stage, the front is in the process of meeting as many voters as possible.

The Congress-led UDF had won 19 out of the 20 seats in the state in 2019. The LDF got only one seat. Rahul Gandhi’s candidature in Wayanad and the Sabarimala issue were among the major setbacks for the LDF. The LDF could win only Alappuzha through A.M. Arif. However, the situation is expected to change in 2024. The LDF is trying to increase its strength in the Lok Sabha by winning the maximum number of seats from Kerala. This time, the fight is between the minister and the MLAs. The campaign was led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

At the same time, the UDF has intensified its campaign with the aim of regaining the Alappuzha seat lost in 2019. All the sitting MPs were given UDF seats. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal are contesting from Wayanad and Alappuzha respectively. Sitting MP K Muraleedharan was shifted from Vadakara to Thrissur and Palakkad MLA Shafi Parambil was given a ticket from Vadakara. The UDF camp is also hoping to regain the Kottayam seat lost by the change of front of the Kerala Congress Jose K Mani faction.
