Kozhikode: Another gold rush at Karipur airport. DRI seized 4 kg of gold from the washroom of the flight from Dubai and 2,250 kg of gold from the passengers.
A total of 6.6 kg of gold was seized. Officials said the seized gold would be worth Rs 4.3 crore. The arrested passengers are being interrogated. Meanwhile, last week, three persons who helped smuggle the gold were caught by the DRI.
He was arrested for helping a passenger who had arrived from Abu Dhabi to bring out the gold safely. They helped to smuggle one and a half kg of gold worth Rs 84 lakh in mixed form.
