Thiruvananthapuram: A tourist bus overturned in Nedumangad Irinjayam at around 9 pm last night. The bus was carrying a group of people who were going on a sightseeing trip from Kattakada Perunkada Vila to Munnar. One person died in the incident. The Motor Vehicles Department said that the tourist bus that caused the accident was a regular violator of the law.
The RTO had caught the Vyashcha bus for speeding and imposed a fine of Rs 2,000. The Kollam RTO took action. The next day, an accident occurred in Nedumangad in which a person was killed. On January 9, the Thiruvananthapuram RTO had also imposed a fine for speeding while playing loud music. The reporter received documents of the violation. The driver of the bus that had an accident in Nedumangad on Friday night has been taken into custody. The driver, Arul Das, a native of Ottasekharamangalam, has been taken into custody. The driver fled the scene of the incident.
The initial conclusion is that the accident was caused by the driver suddenly applying the brakes upon seeing an ambulance. The people who went on the tour were relatives and locals. Most of them were from Perumkadavila, Keezharur, and Kavallur areas.
