Thiruvananthapuram: The Neyyattinkara Additional Sessions Court had convicted Greeshma and her uncle Nirmalakumaran Nair in the Parassala Sharon murder case. The sentencing hearing has begun. The hearing is progressing in the Neyyattinkara Additional Sessions Court.
Additional Sessions Court Judge A.M. Basheer asked Greeshma if she had anything to say before the sentencing. Greeshma wrote down what she wanted to say. The judge called the accused into the chamber and questioned him directly.
Greeshma’s request was to grant maximum leniency in the sentence considering her age. She should continue her studies. She is only 24 years old. Greeshma also told the court that she has no other criminal background. Her educational records were also handed over to the court.
Meanwhile, the prosecution argued that the Sharon murder case was the rarest of rare. The accused should be given the maximum punishment. The accused did not kill a young man, but a feeling of love. The accused had the devil’s thoughts. The murder was committed by pretending to be in love and inviting him to his house. When the first murder attempt failed, he tried again. The act was carried out with precise planning.
The doctors’ statement details the pain Sharon experienced for 11 days. The prosecution said that the murder was not accidental but premeditated. Sharon also had dreams. Greeshma shattered those dreams. The accused showed no remorse at any point. Therefore, the prosecution argued that he did not deserve any mercy and that the accused should be given the death penalty.
