New Year 2025: A Fresh Start Filled with Hopes and Opportunities

The state greeted the New Year with grand celebrations. Festivities were held in cities like Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Kozhikode. Celebrations continued until dawn in tourist hotspots.

In Fort Kochi, thousands witnessed the burning of the traditional “Papanji” at the Veli Grounds, marking the arrival of the New Year. A similar event was held in Vadavathoor, Kottayam.

Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan extended their New Year greetings.

Governor Arif Mohammed Khan conveyed heartfelt wishes to Malayalis across the globe:
“Heartfelt New Year greetings to all Malayalis worldwide. May 2025 be a year that strengthens unity, fosters a sense of security, and brings progress and prosperity to our beloved state through harmony in thought and action,” the Governor said in his message.
