Alappuzha: Health Minister Veena George said that a special team headed by the Additional Director of Health Department will conduct an investigation into the allegation that the deformity of a newborn baby was not detected earlier in the Women and Children’s Hospital. The Minister had instructed the director of the health department to conduct an investigation as soon as the incident was noticed.
District level investigation started yesterday. The scanning center will also be investigated. Strict action will be taken against the culprits if any lapses are found in the investigations. Earlier, a case was registered against four doctors in the incident.
Gynecologists at Kadapuram Women and Children’s Hospital, Alappuzha, A case was registered against Dr. Shirley, Pushpa and two doctors of the private lab. Alappuzha South Police has registered a case in the incident. Following this, the Health Department has announced an investigation.
