Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George has said that the test results of all nine people in the contact list of the Nipah virus patient have been negative. 15 people are undergoing treatment in hospitals.
The results of those with fever were also negative. The minister also clarified that the same virus variant found in 2023 is still confirmed. The test results of the family members of the Nipah affected child are also negative.
406 people are in contact list. There are 194 people in high risk category. 139 people are health workers. The survey was completed in 7239 households. In the survey, 439 people were diagnosed with fever. Four of them are in contact with the child. Their samples will be tested.
The testing in the mobile lab will start from tomorrow. In response to opposition leader VD Satheesan’s allegation, the Minister stated that all cases of disease are reported in Kerala and not in many other places.
